Serve Your Community: Apply for the CAPITAL Committee

The Town of Alta is forming a Citizens Advsiroy Panel to Improve the Town of Alta (CAPITAL) to support our work on capital improvement planning and funding. Following several months of discussion — including our recent community presentation — we're ready to open applications to serve on the CAPITAL Committee.

What the Committee Will Do

The committee will review work prepared by Town staff and design teams and provide advice the Alta Town Council with community perspective on:

Whether proposed improvements reflect Alta's values and fulfil its' needs for municipal services

Funding strategies and financing options, including potential bond measures

Timing and prioritization of capital investments

Who We're Looking For

We're seeking 6–8 community members who represent a range of Town of Alta stakeholders — full-time residents, second-home owners, and members of the business community. No technical expertise required; what matters most is a genuine interest in Alta's future and a commitment to engage thoughtfully and consistently throughout the process.

Time Commitment

The committee will meet approximately every 2-3 months, with 4–6 meetings in total. Meetings will be roughly 1.5 hours. Members should expect some background reading between sessions. A meeting schedule will be determined by the committee and is expected to flow with the Town’s facility design process, which is still taking shape.

Applications are open now through Thursday, April 2nd at 12 PM. Apply via this short form. The Town Council will review applications and make final appointments in its April 8th, 2026 meeting.
