Budget

The Town of Alta is proposing a property tax revenue increase of $100,000, rising from $405,000 to $505,000, to ensure the Town can continue to meet essential operational needs. For a primary residence valued at $1,809,000 (with the residential exemption), the Town’s portion of the property tax would increase from approximately $829.79 to $1,030.77 annually—an increase of $200.98 per year.

This adjustment is being proposed to help the Town keep pace with inflation, offer competitive compensation to staff, address new staffing needs, and manage an increasing number of projects and services. Like many municipalities, the cost of doing business has risen, and this revenue increase will help Alta maintain the level of service our community expects.

A Truth in Taxation public hearing will be held on August 13, 2025, at 6:00 PM to receive public comment. All residents are encouraged to attend and participate.
